Micro-teaching
What do you think could have been different about the Micro-teaching experience to make it more beneficial for you? How helpful was it in preparing you for student teaching? What changes should I make for next semester? What suggestions do you have for the new interns to help them get the most out of the experience?

I loved my micro-teaching experience at Bloom Trail. I think that it was incredibly helpful in preparing me for student teaching (next month!) As far as what can be improved, absolutely nothing comes to mind. My only comment would be whether it is possible to "switch" teachers while we are there. I loved my co-op teacher, but there are so many teachers in the English Dept. that it might be helpful to view the teaching style of more than one. This would probably be an administrative headache and nearly impossible, but it's just a thought.
I agree with Deb. Watching different teachers in action would be helpful, as they all seem to use slightly different methods. Furthermore, each cooperating teacher has made helpful suggestions. I cannot imagine going into student teaching without the experience of microteaching!
I personally would have loved to have more time coordinating with my co-op teacher. She gave me virtually no collaboration with my lesson plans- perhaps I failed to explain things to her or perhaps the administration didn't explain to her what was expected- i don't know, but my co-op did not seem to know what she was supposed to do with me!
As a pre-micro-teacher I appreciate reading these comments!
