Voicethread.com
This is a really easy site to use for creating pod casts. Check out the "mash up" on Catcher In the Rye #69839 that was created this week and the podcast for "Love Poem" by Nims #68404 that currently is on page 16. Then post a response--or even better--create a voice thread yourself and tell us to go look at it!

This voice thread website is very cool. It is so nice to be able to put your voice with an image to express what you truly want to say. I thought that the “mash up” was really creative and very insightful. I really like the idea of this in the classroom. What a creative new way to incorporate technology that will give the students a chance to work outside the traditional book report box! I look forward to using this website.
I agree, it is really cool! This is the first I've seen. I really like the way the creator can use symbolism and then explain why they used that particular picture to connect it to the literature. This is a great tool for the classroom - I agree with Jen about it being a great alternative route to the traditional book report. I wonder how many kids are using these already, this is one that I haven't seen my own kids on.....yet!
i really like this program. it is a simple way to let the students become interactive with technology in the classroom. I agree with Tricia in wondering how many schools are actually using this.
WOW! I was very impresssed with this mash up! The student really had a lot to say. Talk about text to world and self connections. I am constantly amazed at the way technology allows us to express ourselves in ways that were impossible such a short time ago. This voice thread thing will be great for student projects.
Wow! I thought I was impressed with the Smart Board! This is amazing. What a way to allow students to do use their digital skills in order to learn. I love it and cannot wait to use it.
I thought that what Dr. Mietlicki said about the students using digital cameras to take the pictures for the mash-ups themselves was a great idea. Then the students actually have to use their own prior knowledge and their own lives to fulfill the details of what they are trying to portray.
I really like the idea of podcasts being used in the classroom. This really lets the students have their own voice, and ensures that they will try harder since it will be viewed by others. I only question how capable this is in every school district. I never heard of these podcasts, so I'm really excited about using this in my classrooms.
This is really crazy. Here I am trying to comment on how exciting I'm finding all of the new technologies we're exploring, and I can't even seem to successfully post a comment. But I will be patient and persevere, because I really want to be current and fresh in the classroom. Seriously though, this is some great stuff!
Voicethread is such a great alternative to book reports! Students could even use this technology to aide them in giving presentations. Not only is it a way to express one's knowledge of symbolism, it is a great tool for connecting literature to life.
